There’s nothing more boring than people who take themselves too seriously or think that you have to be pretentious to be cool. Stassi champions the things that many of us are afraid to love publicly for fear of being labeled basic: lattes, pugs, bubbly cocktails, millennial pink, #OOTD (outfit of the day, obvs), astrology, hot dogs, the perfect pair of Louboutins, romantic comedies...the list goes on and on.

This book is for people tired of pretending they would rather see a Daniel Day-Lewis movie about sewing or read War and Peace than watch a Saw marathon or read...well, this book!

In Next Level Basic, the reality star, podcast queen, and ranch dressing expert gives you hilarious and pointed lessons on how to have fun and celebrate yourself, with exclusive stories from her own life and on the set of Vanderpump Rules. From her very public breakups to her most intimate details about her plastic surgery, Stassi shares her own personal experiences with her trademark honesty—all with the hope you can learn something from them.

Building a StoryBrand Free Pdf

ISBN: 0718033329
Title: Building a StoryBrand Pdf Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen
Author: Donald Miller
Published Date: 2017-10-10
Page: 256

Donald Miller has helped more than 3,000 businesses clarify their marketing messages so their companies grow. He's the CEO of StoryBrand, the cohost of the Building a StoryBrand Podcast, and the author of several books, including the bestsellers Blue Like Jazz and A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, Betsy, and their dogs, Lucy and June Carter.

New York Times bestselling author Donald Miller uses the seven universal elements of powerful stories to teach readers how to dramatically improve how they connect with customers and grow their businesses.

Donald Miller’s StoryBrand process is a proven solution to the struggle business leaders face when talking about their businesses. This revolutionary method for connecting with customers provides readers with the ultimate competitive advantage, revealing the secret for helping their customers understand the compelling benefits of using their products, ideas, or services. Building a StoryBrand does this by teaching readers the seven universal story points all humans respond to; the real reason customers make purchases; how to simplify a brand message so people understand it; and how to create the most effective messaging for websites, brochures, and social media. Whether you are the marketing director of a multibillion dollar company, the owner of a small business, a politician running for office, or the lead singer of a rock band, Building a StoryBrand will forever transform the way you talk about who you are, what you do, and the unique value you bring to your customers.

Useful marketing book but it's also a teaser for up-scaling to expensive online and other courses. This is an insightful book especially if you are a bit new to marketing. While building a story brand is nothing new, Miller does a more than adequate job setting up its importance in marketing and then fleshing out the details in section two. After a good discussion of the StoryBrand Brand Script (SB7), in section three he discusses how to implement this to build a better website - still spot on material. He then discusses how this can apply to a large organization, then wraps up the book by giving a so-called StoryBrand marketing Road Map.However, this is where the book and his obvious marketing ploy at the often hapless reader falls apart. At the most crucial stage of the book he skimps on each of the five elements of the Road Map, all the time mentioning that there is more to be learned at his live conferences held periodically and also online. While it's OK to mention this option, it is over-bearing. Not only does it become over-bearing, but the last part of the book is intentionally short of implementation details as a way to draw the reader into wanting, or "needing" more to implement the book's overall strategy. It's clever. After just investing the time and energy to read the previous near 200 pages and being sold on how important the Story Brand is to marketing success, you have now been geared to actually want more to bring the circle, both learning, implementation and even emotionally - complete. The next logical step is to check out his company online. This is where I balk again at Miller's strategy. His live courses are just under $2000 per person, but if that's not an option, including for me since I currently work in Southeast Asia, there's an online course option, which comes in at a whopping $1500. Worse yet, the price is not give on his well-crafted website but you have to "request" permission to apply for the course, then in an email the price is sent with another problematic notion, a 48-hour ticking clock to make the decision to buy the course. I just received notice that my 48 hour window of opportunity is closing - no thanks Mr. Miller.Below is the email blast just received."This private invitation is only good for another 24 hours. If you're tired of wasting money on websites that don't work... If nothing is happening when you send your email campaigns...If your elevator pitches fall flat...The pain stops here.If you haven't clarified your message, your current marketing is costing you money. You're pouring water in a leaky bucket. There's a better way to talk about your products and services -- in a way that compels people listen and respond. StoryBrand helps you uncover it."But what a minute, let's go back full circle, aren't these the reasons I bought the book in the first place? Do I really have to spend $1500 or more to learn about this since it’s supposed to be fully covered in the book? Also, as another reviewer just wrote, be warned you that if you sign up for the videos and forms you will be inundated with emails trying to sell you into his other programs. Be advised that there is an MLM component behind this book. This Saved My Business (and my mission) It's amazing (and a gift) that Donald Miller/the team at Story Brand are sharing the marketing framework, business building and service-focused roadmap that saved my business. I attended The Building a Story Brand HAND-ON 3-day workshop in Tennessee in 2015 and immediately implemented 7 key points. Two years later, my "marketing re-haul" still works! The changes I made help me with team communication, marketing collateral, Google Adwords, SEO tactics, on-boarding new employees and internal promotions. Clarifying my message clarified me and I am able to lead better. What's next?- Reread the book - and - take notes- Hold a team meeting- Listen to the recent podcast on the book- Refresh "our story" (love the template and software that help this process)- Go implement - Change our APP, launch a testimonial marketing campaign on facebook/instagram, and re-do our CRM campaignsI'm confident and in control now, and it's not hyperbole that CLARITY got me here.Your audience will start paying attention if you do it this way, Donald Miller makes it easy I've read this twice through. I have tabs (7 of them) to go back to each step to re-visit details. This is a fantastic explanation of Donald Miller's story framework for use in business. Not just marketing, not just web-sites. But you can apply these priniciples to your blogs, tweets, internal presentations, business cases...mainly because it works, everyone universally knows how to consume stories and they will pay attention if you do it right. Mr. Miller makes it easy. (PS - subscribe to his podcast, it is fantastic)

Cozy Minimalist Home Pdf

Title: Cozy Minimalist Home Pdf

More Style, Less Stuff

Cozy minimalism isn't about going without or achieving a particular new, modern style. Nope. It's simply a mindset that helps you get whatever style YOU LOVE with the fewest possible items.

You want a warm, cozy, inviting home, without using more resources, money, and stuff than needed. Why use more if you don't have to?

In Cozy Minimalist Home, accidental stylist and best-selling author Myquillyn Smith guides you step by step on making purposeful design decisions for your home. You'll have the tools to transform your home starting with what you already have, and using just enough of the right furniture and decor to create a home you're proud of in a way that honors your personal priorities, budget, and style. No more fretting when it comes to decorating your house!

In Cozy Minimalist Home, Myquillyn Smith helps you:

  • Realize your role as the curator of your home who makes smart, style-impacting design choices
  • Finally know what to focus on, and what not to worry about when it comes to your home
  • Discover the real secret to finding your unique style - it has nothing to do with those style quizzes
  • Understand how to find a sofa you won't hate tomorrow
  • Deconstruct each room and then re-create it step by step with a fail proof process
  • Create a pretty home with more style and less stuff - resulting in backwards decluttering!
  • Finish your home and have it looking the way you've always hoped so you can use it the way you've always dreamed

After reading Myquillyn's first book, The Nesting Place, women everywhere were convinced that it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful and they found real contentment in their homes. But how does a content imperfectionist make actual design decisions?

Cozy Minimalist Home is the answer to that question. Written for the hands-on woman who'd rather move her own furniture than hire a designer, this is the guidance she needs to finish every room of her house. With people, priorities and purpose in mind, anyone can create a beautiful home that transcends the trends.

A pretty home is nice, but a Cozy Minimalist home goes beyond pretty and sets the stage for connection, relationship, and rest.

Follow along as Myquillyn redecorates her home with the photos available in the audiobook companion PDF download.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

A much-needed book that bridges the categories of beauty, practicality, minimalism and hygge This book is not a guide book to interior design with lots of practical information about “how to proportion your gallery wall” or “the right way to pair interesting throw pillows.” It is also not a glossy, high-end interior design book full of fanciful musings by professional designers about creating some picture-perfect unused drawing room for their wealthy upper eastside clients. Rather, it documents a normal person’s imperfect fixer-upper and her journey to find a balance between simplicity and coziness. You’ll read about she grew as a designer, but more importantly a homeowner and an occupier of space, with little design tips and things to consider along the way. She shares her mistakes, the process by which she made her decisions, her “lessons learned.” She gives you a lot of things to think about without feeding them to you in bullet points. There is a lot of text. Design photos take second place, and there’s not many of them compared to what you would expect out of an interior design book. The writing can be... less focused than desired at times but can also be expected from a personal story.Readers looking for succinct hard and fast rules, straightforward design lessons regarding portion, balance, texture etc. and practical tips will have to work a little to find them (and for these readers, I highly recommend the two Domino books on interior design). However, I think this book will really resonate with all us lifestyle minimalists who needed something to bridge the gap between wanting clean spaces and uncluttered counters, but finding the minimalist aethestic too cold and hard and unforgiving. Her struggle between real life (three teenage boys, big dog) and “prettiness,” clean empty spaces and snuggling up to a mountain of throw pillows is so relatable. Her description of her pile of cute, cheap decor (looking at you Home Goods and Target) is literally a snapshot out of my life. Or well, my old life before I decluttered everything and now feel like my home is lacking a little personality and warmth. And for people like me, this is the book we needed.LOVE THIS BOOK!! Makes decorating so easy and accessible! Cozy Minimalist Home gives me permission to decorate the way I've always wanted to but thought I was doing something wrong.I co-host a podcast called Minimalist Moms, so I feel like I'm expected to keep my home minimal, but when I take too much away, it feels cold and unfriendly. Plus, I'm not comfortable and that's hardly any way to live, right?Myquillyn shows you how to make your home cozy AND minimalist. She teaches you how it's more about making your home function for you than following a certain design aesthetic. Then, she walks you through how to decorate a room from start to finish, step-by-easy-step. And, guess what? I was doing everything in the wrong order. No wonder my rooms never felt quite right! Her advice is as about as practical as it comes and easy for everyone to accomplish. No design degree required! My husband and I have been debating about which mirror to put over our fireplace for months but I didn't want to order it from a catalog because I would lose $100 in shipping costs to return if it wasn't right. After I finished her chapter on wall art, I ordered that mirror with confidence - and saved money! This book has literally already paid for itself several times over!Favorite Quotes:- More for the sake of more is just as empty as less for the sake of less.- Less is the gift to myself that keeps on giving.- Every limitation has a beautiful workaround.- One of the best parts of cozy minimalism is this odd sensation you begin to experience – one that most people never allow themselves to feel. It’s called "enough."

Elevation Free Pdf

ISBN: 1982102314
Title: Elevation Pdf
Author: Stephen King
Published Date: 2018-10-30
Page: 160

An Amazon Best Book of November 2018: The first thing to note about Stephen King’s Elevation is that it is a short book—small and short. This being an online store, it is useful to point out that it will not land on your doorstep with the thud of a typical Stephen King novel. The second thing to note is that it is a fun and surprisingly moving read. When we first meet Scott Carey, he is knocking on the door of a doctor’s condo. Carey discloses to the doctor that he is experiencing a unique condition: he is losing weight but not mass. Every day he is a little lighter and no one can tell the difference. When the doctor points out that this is likely not a condition treatable by modern medicine, Carey appears to concur. So if he is possibly running out of time, what’s next? Scott Carey opts to conduct his life with honor and conviction, and to make the world a better place. Set in King’s fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine, the book has very little of the classic King darkness—and it has the feel of a parable. The lesson is that we might actually all be able to get along. Could it be as easy as giving up a little bit of ourselves each day? --Chris Schluep, Amazon Book Review “Written in masterly King’s signature translucent style and set in one of his trademark locales, this uncharacteristically glimmering fairy tale calls unabashedly for us to rise above our differences… succinct, magical, timely...charming yet edgy." — Booklist, STARRED review “[An] elegant whisper of a story…[Scott] finds a memorable—and quite beautiful, really—way to depart a town made all the better for his presence.” —Kirkus Reviews, STARRED review “In this surprisingly sweet and quietly melancholy short novel, King weaves an eerie, charming tale of the ways that strange circumstances can bring people together…King’s tender story is perfect for any fan of small towns, magic, and the joys and challenges of doing the right thing.” —Publishers Weekly, STARRED review   “Joyful, uplifting, and tinged with sadness.” —Entertainment Weekly "There’s a sweetness that feels like something new for King. It’s heavy out there right now. Here’s something that’s not.” —Gilbert Cruz, The New York Times Book Review “Delightful…What the slim volume lacks in weight, it makes up in pathos...As Carey’s weight approaches zero and his center of gravity shifts, the book lifts off to an unforgettable and deeply moving conclusion.” —Susannah Cahalan, The New York Post “A quick, satisfying read... the sign of a master simply elevating his own legendary game yet again.” —Brian Truitt, USA Today "A slim book about an ordinary man in an extraordinary condition rising above hatred and learning to live with tact and dignity." —Ron Charles, The Washington Post "Stephen King still has the power to surprise his beloved ‘constant readers.' [King is] a storyteller still at the top of his game. Elevation is a magical tale that entertains and manages to say a little something about the state of our culture in 2018.” —Rob Merrill, Associated Press “This is not an offering to be missed. The master is at his impressive best here, and given a chance, it’s a societal story that could actually live up to its title.” —Tom Mayer, The Mountain Times “If you’re one of those book lovers daunted by the sheer heft of some of Stephen King’s work, take heart. His tiny new novel, Elevation, clocks in at 146 pages of a story that at first sounds like a dream come true...What happens when gravity can’t hold you down? The answer comes from King’s mind. Enjoy Elevation for what it is: a story about something impossible happening to an otherwise pretty ordinary man.” —Amanda St. Amand, St. Louis Post-Dispatch "A melancholy, moving fairytale of sorts, about how tolerance, understanding and forgiveness lift all spirits — figuratively and literally. " —Emily Burnham, Bangor Daily News "A welcome antidote to the angry rhetoric of our day." —Michael Berry, The San Francisco Chronicle "The kind of story you could inhale in a leisurely hour... rewarding and philosophically complex piece of work, offering both social critique and a meditation on how our different experiences shape our minds.” —Josephine Livingstone, The New Republic “A resident with a mystical ailment begins spreading exuberance and kindness, the side effects of his unusual affliction…[a] somber, sweet novella.” —People magazine

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The latest from legendary master storyteller Stephen King, a riveting, extraordinarily eerie, and moving story about a man whose mysterious affliction brings a small town together—a timely, upbeat tale about finding common ground despite deep-rooted differences.

Although Scott Carey doesn’t look any different, he’s been steadily losing weight. There are a couple of other odd things, too. He weighs the same in his clothes and out of them, no matter how heavy they are. Scott doesn’t want to be poked and prodded. He mostly just wants someone else to know, and he trusts Doctor Bob Ellis.

In the small town of Castle Rock, the setting of many of King’s most iconic stories, Scott is engaged in a low grade—but escalating—battle with the lesbians next door whose dog regularly drops his business on Scott’s lawn. One of the women is friendly; the other, cold as ice. Both are trying to launch a new restaurant, but the people of Castle Rock want no part of a gay married couple, and the place is in trouble. When Scott finally understands the prejudices they face–including his own—he tries to help. Unlikely alliances, the annual foot race, and the mystery of Scott’s affliction bring out the best in people who have indulged the worst in themselves and others.

From Stephen King, our “most precious renewable resource, like Shakespeare in the malleability of his work” (The Guardian), Elevation is an antidote to our divisive culture, as gloriously joyful (with a twinge of deep sadness) as “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Utter Garbage One, this is not a novel - not by a long-shot. It's a 20kish word novella with massive type and low per-page word count stretched out to just barely 145 pages. It's not worth $20 by any stretch. Two, this is -terrible-. It's a saccharine, boring as hell, ham-handed allegory about terminal illness that feels like it was intended to be sold as the plot of a Hallmark Network made for TV movie. What is going on with you, Steve? First it was the dreadful, plodding Bill Hodges trilogy, then the god-awful Gwendy's Button Box, which we could at least blame on your "collaborator", but now this? Have you lost your sense of direction? I have no problem with SK moving away from horror, some of his best work isn't horror at all, but he seems to have lost all sensibility as a writer of any quality.Hope Hope. Not the feeling I expected to have with this newest visit to Castle Rock, but that's exactly how I feel after reading this story. We're treated to a number of references, my favorite being the garage band that prepares for a gig by renaming themselves to Pennywise and the Clowns, but the odd things that happen to Scott, and more importantly, the way he deals with them... that's the heart of this story. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Stephen King wrote this as a counterpoint to the endless parade of negativity that surrounds us more and more by the day. As an example of how we should be, rather than how we are. If he did, he knocked it out of the park. Not a long read, especially by his standards, but a rewarding one.Why are people docking stars for it being a novella? I liked this novella. It is a bit reminiscent of Thinner in terms of weight loss. But not a bad story...good not great. My question is as to Why are people docking stars based on their own ignorance? I knew when I pre ordered this book that it was a novella. I read the description and the page count. I understand the disappointment of the story being short and the price but it’s a new release! This is normal pricing folks. This is why the price was lowered from 19.99 originally to around 12.00. If you feel the story is bad, then rate it accordingly, but don’t dock the rating based on your own reading error and anger. It’s not right and misleading to future readers.
